WFMU’s first-ever broadcast aired 65 (‼️) years ago today, on April 24 1958. No one knows anything about it, and a decade would pass before the first stirrings of freeform programming graced our airwaves.

My mum passed away recently after a short illness. Less than a year after my dad. I’ve spent the last three weeks in a bit of a daze, doing nothing, as neither passing has really sunk in yet. They both lived to a good age, a small comfort, but you should never take your parents for granted.

Enjoyed the 1981 edition of Top Of The Pops on BBC 4 tonight. The times before they started to fill the audience with paid dancers and all the kids looked like people I was at school with. #TOTP
