Re-watching Stein’s Gate, a show about changing the past, and not seeing the events play out as I remember, is a pretty freaky trip.
So much for my beloved city being a "bastion of liberalism".
My most recent stage of maturity came when I realized that sentiments like “give peace a chance,” “love is all you need,” and “everybody get together and love one another” aren’t naive hippy platitudes; they’re the epitome of wisdom. All this “tough love” baloney about bootstraps and “hand ups, not handouts”, and “us against them” foreign policy and immigration policy is the childish stuff.
