@frameworkcomputer I'm starting to think the swappable USB ports take up too much space. I think it might be better to just add a bunch of USB daughter boards for USB only ports like Apple, then design the board to be more compact from all the space saved. You would then be able to have a bigger battery.

What would be cool is to have a board design that may have worked in a Framework 13 and 16. This way, it wouldn't feel like the 16 would be as neglected.

@opensuse Balena Etcher could not install Aeon onto my flash drives. The only way I was able to get it to work was to use 'dd'. Etcher kept saying the raw file was corrupted, and at the time I couldn't find a checksum to verify against. I also didn't know if I was downloading RC2 or RC3 on the website.

@frameworkcomputer And so begins the realization of a meta-platform from which many, many companies could build their own ecosystem through their own designed hardware and software stack.

This is where being first to market actually matters. There won't be a good reason to build your own modular platform when someone else already does it for you, which allows you to outsource all the boring parts. For as long as the parts are quality, Framework will never be unseated.

@frameworkcomputer Will we ever get one of those Snapdragon X Elite processors on Framework to hold us over for RISC-V in the meantime?
@mattdm Looking forward to the day when we can drop a RISC-V board into the Framework Laptop. Thanks for paving the way!
@dcz @frameworkcomputer You're right, but what probably doesn't make sense to me is the worker doing the disassembly and costing less. You might as well leave everything assembled and that should improve efficiency because it's wasted labor. I would rather see the price of all the laptops coming down and scale better.
@frameworkcomputer Is it really necessary to assemble the machine just to test the parts? To be honest, the cost might just be lower across the product lineup if workers waste their time assembling then disassembling the diy editions.
@frameworkcomputer I was hoping to see factory seconds options for pairing with newer generation of CPUs. I understand that the old stock needs to be cleared out, but I personally don't want older gen CPUs. To be honest, maybe the international markets might want the older hardware at a much lower price in the form of a laptop or maybe even in the form of a mini PC that Framework has been demoing as a concept. What's valuable to me is the factory seconds case and display.
@frameworkcomputer Is the CPU cooler going to bigger for the 16 inch?
@frameworkcomputer Any chance for top firing planar speaker modules?
