No matter how small the group, there will be infighting; so I accept some mistakes others don't.

Saw a college performance of Metamorphoses and a 4th--12th grade performance of Mathilda. Makes for a great start to a weekend.
I’m still struggling to unlearn the habits I’ve built up over 20+ years of being on social media. There’s that weird mix of performativity and anticipatory defensiveness that both serve to color and mute my voice and diminish my thoughts here. I’d like to revisit that. What are the things I’ve forgotten how to say on the internet?

@proportionwheel

Is spinning up an instance really the solution to this kind of thing, anyway? If you could get enough people to join it, I might spin one up for you. …but if you could get enough ATM/ AA people to join any existing instance you'd be off and running with lists, hashtags, and using the "follow" function, no?

Could it be about the lack of moderation of hate speech (or moderation of all kinds) being bad for the brand?

Unless CBS thinks it's going to cause or exacerbate the collapse by its own tweeting (which is silly), that doesn't answer the question. I hope you and they don't think what is needed in order prevent collapse is for CBS on its own or for many, as a concerted effort, to stop tweeting until twitter can get its feed under itself.

Assuming not:

As a result of Twitter being on the verge of collapse, CBS continuing to tweet would risk _____ happening.

@[email protected] Out of an abundance of caution against what?

If I wear a helmet while driving a regular car on a regular road, it's an abundance of caution against a getting hit or hitting something. If I gather bandages before clipping my nails, it's an abundance of caution against clipping my skin instead of my nails.

What is the danger of CBS using Twitter (danger that didn't exist before a week ago)?

@argyllander parody account, yes?
What I'm feeling (besides a confirmation that the Twitterverse is mainly about premature speculation, misinformation, and BS) is not schadenfreude. It's also not the most supportive feeling for those with a sense of loss. That loss is real and I'll do my best to remember how I felt when Twitter was originally lost. Peace, everyone.
@annika never mind. I see the submissions link.
