@latte I always like seeing your new posts and behind-the-scenes peeks like this are super cool. I'm excited to see what you do next! I've been inspired to try to make my site design more fun—now I just gotta figure out how to do that o_o;
@latte I was taking notes in a notebook too but it was getting to the point where I had so many I wanted them to be searchable, so sadly we're back in digital notes territory
@playdate my playdate has gone missing and I've been debating getting a new one. Is there a way to transfer my purchases to a new device?
@rouli nope! This is in Godot. I probably should have looked at the asset library to see if there are similar things to Cinemachine, but it's been fun to try to figure these things out for myself too. 😅
Camera stuff for 3D platformers has just endless layers of nuance you can get into. None of it is really *that* difficult—there's just a lot of it, and every consideration you add to the game will make it feel better to play.
I've been tinkering with camera zones, where the camera automatically shifts into a different behavior to make navigating certain obstacles easier. here it orbits around the outside of a pillar, almost turning the game into a 2D platformer.
@rouli it can be fun, even! Always nice to carve out a space for yourself on the Internet.
