@jascha Bonus point I just noticed when trying to reply: even I got confused briefly, when clicking the link to your post on your server, then having to copy it into another identically looking browser tab with my server... it's a small thing, but Mastodons usability can still be annoying and confusing.

@jascha I would also reject the idea that people who move on from social media entirely, short form specifically, are "lost".

I rarely use either Mastodon or Bluesky these days, maybe the wide appeal of this type of conversation is just gone. (Also, users on both platforms can be annoying in their own ways, lol.)

Your questions kinda frames it as a fight for users between two competing systems. Is that really the case?
