I don’t know how I picked up this habit, but I’ve always patted appliances when they’re done to thank them. Thanks for the washing, thanks for the hot food, etc.

Maybe if I used chatbots I’d thank them too. Or not, because I kinda detest them. My washing machine though? That guy is awesome.

"Learn the difference between 'helping' and being 'helpy'"

(If all you are doing is pointing at things and saying "look I found all these problems" you're not helping, you're being helpy... Being "helpy" allows you to claim that you're part of the process and a valuable part of the team and it makes you visible in meetings but doesn't actually improve anything.)

I sit next to a boisterous older Italian woman at work and she's so positive and wonderful and she hypes everyone up. You legitimately cannot have a bad day after talking to her.
