You've heard of Elf on a Shelf. Now introducing...
So, hi! Itโs been a hell of a week. Like an โI need to update my Mastodon intro postโ week.
I quit my job last Wed. I hit a massive wall with burnout, and could not take any more misery.
It was the right choice. I feel horrible leaving my colleagues so abruptly, but my lifestyle had become so unhealthy. Iโm already much more relaxed.
So, let me know if you know of any salaried, non-FAANG, social-good-ish or under-the-hood-related UX openings in big cities? Thanks. ๐๐ฝ
This is freaking incredible.

Watching a Curiosity Stream documentary about volcanoes in southern Japan. I never thought about the importance of the dubbing voiceover artistsโ inflections.
Shinto priests are explaining their beliefs and traditions regarding Mt. Unzen. I know enough Japanese to see theyโre just explaining in a matter-of-fact way. But the VAs run the risk of a patronizing portrayal, depicting them as clinging to with a naive, infantile world view.
