A PROPOSAL
A drawer that you keep your arms inside of.
So at the end of the day, you can unfasten
them, pop them right off at the socket
in your shoulder blade, and rest them gently
on a towel, perhaps a blanket. You're done.
Your friend will call you and you will say
sorry, I've already taken my arms off.
They'll hear the apology in your voice, you'll
be sincere but firm. I'm sorry, but I'm done
doing for the day. I don't have fingers
with which to type a response.

But you 100% don't need a diagnosis to be neurodivergent
I'm self-diagnosed as autistic and I don't plan to seek an "official" diagnosis anytime soon
I find the idea of neurodiversity and the neurodivergent community liberating because it is about celebrating and connecting based on our experiences, not on the diagnostic criteria put together by people who think we are broken
