@cstross off topic: are you staying here or giving BSky a chance?

@cstross @SvenGeier I’m not a Musk fanboy (not by a longshot) but for whatever reason he did manage to make both Tesla and SpaceX into multi-billion dollar businesses which completely transformed their industries.

This required more than just luck.

@MotherJones When last we had 2 major storms hitting both sides of the Atlantic *at the same time*? my guess is never
@cstross why did the UK end up with such a monstrosity? The American or the European plugs seem so elegant in comparison...

@LauraKT Iran definitely managed to slip several missiles last Israel's defenses:
- a hit close to Mossad's HQ (sorry, link to X: https://x.com/GeoConfirmed/status/1841512340887384502)
- air bases (https://x.com/GeoConfirmed/status/1841226485761249771, https://x.com/GeoConfirmed/status/1841206275050479719). Israel claims nothing major was hit (but it would say that). I very much doubt any F-35 was hit.

Using civ's killed as a yardstick is sickening, but that's Netanyahu's government.

That said, Iran *is* spreading death through proxies all over the Middle East

@dangillmor on the other hand, Netanyahu won't need to testify in his corruption trial.

Very impressive technology, but give Meta access to *everything* you see? Not gonna happen

Meta’s big tease

Meta’s first pair of AR glasses, Orion, are a demo of what CEO Mark Zuckerberg thinks will one day replace the smartphone. Here’s what it’s like to use them.

@aureliano their next summit should be when both of them are wearing orange jump suits.
@bhawthorne @bruces how come? This seems like the most targeted attack in history. Very little collateral damage (not to say no collateral damage. No child should die in a war). Hezbollah is widely recognized as a terrorist organization and has launched thousands of rockets into Israel which resulted kn multiple casualties - including of children playing soccer.
