ich bin ja eh schon wieder zu lange wach aber jetzt habe ich gerade eine riesige laufspinne (vermutlich nosferatu, wäre nicht die erste hier ) auf dem boden gesehen, und als ich mir schnell ein glas geschnappt hab war sie schon wieder verschwunden

it's a monument celebrating tommie smith and john carlos, who famously performed a solemn black power salute in protest during the 1968 olympics, resulting in one of the most widely known photos of all time

the third man in the picture, peter norman - a white australian - stood with them in solidarity, and he asked to be excluded from the monument so that others can (and should) take a stand just as he did

Ich kann verstehen, dass man als Reaktion auf den Vorwurf der Politik, man sei faul, damit reagiert, sich als superschuftenden Malocher darzustellen. Nur: Damit steigt man in das Narrativ ein, legitimiert die Propaganda. Faulheit ist nicht schlimm. Lohnarbeit ist schlimm. Ausbeutung ist schlimm.
