Nigel Fartrage addresses the nation from his bedsit - law & order folks!
Fair & legitimate questions or Deliberate provocations? #farageriots

The world exists within you. If you think everyone is evil, you will see evil in the world. If you think everyone is essentially good, you will see the good. Evil exists in the good. Good exists in the evil.

People do evil things in the hope of good outcomes. People do good things for evil ends.

Of course some people are just evil by nature and others are good, these are so rare that we could probably name them. The rest of us exist in a world of everyday acts of kindness and betrayals.

I don’t find Social Media sociable. In fact it accentuates isolation and loneliness.

ONLY HE CAN TURN DOWN THE TEMPERATURE

No one has done more to frame American politics in violent terms than Donald Trump, explain @gilduran and @georgelakoff

Donald Trump and the language of violence

@justinling Any criticism of Trump will be framed as tantamount to endorsing violence and justifying the assassination attempt.
The Republicans are going to use the assassination attempt to forbid criticism of Trump's authoritarian tendencies. We have to resist that effort. https://www.thestar.com/opinion/contributors/thank-goodness-donald-trump-survived-now-let-s-get-back-to-defending-democracy/article_a1d15e78-4232-11ef-bd56-c377c1b92402.html
Thank goodness Donald Trump survived. Now let’s get back to defending democracy

The shooting has already fuelled the paranoia and anxiety that has defined this presidential election race. And things are likely to get worse, writes Justin Ling.

@lolgop @gilduran @georgelakoff He literally pumped his fist and shouted “Fight, fight, fight” Not resist or unite, but fight. His audience didn’t behave with dismay and shook, they screamed abuse and got angry, even though he was not seriously injured.

The rhetoric of division is the attempt to maintain power, no matter the costs to unity within our society and community.

In the longterm all authoritarian regimes fail. But they only fail because they are resisted and there in lies the pain and hardship, the suffering. I’m not going to lie, things are going to unpredictable and unpleasant in so many ways.

However, it’s times of resistance that create community and solidarity.

Find your people and create something better. You got this.
