"Ehrenamt ist kritische Infrastruktur"
Inspirierende Energie auf dem transform_D Summit #tds26

Is open source "tech for good" really under pressure? I seem to see rather more dynamic for open source currently with the dependence on and politicization of big tech. Relevant points in this article, although I disagree with quite a few of the arguments: There are successful business models for open source software beyond grant funding!
Nextcloud, Red Hat (billions of revenue), Acquia (of Drupal CMS) 200+M. Admittedly, a high bar to compare ourselves as Aam Digital 😅
As always, technology like a chatbot has opportunities and risks - especially in humanitarian contexts. But it's quite impressive how some organisations are able to leverage these tools.
A really nice analysis of lessons learned around chatbots for social good: https://www.ictworks.org/using-chatbots-humanitarian-programs/
I'm wondering: Are bots helping rather to widen the scale or to deepen a project in its engagement?
#GovTech in (nicely simulated) action: GovStack has a nice use case simulator now that highlights how a modular approach with their open specs can work: https://simulation.govstack.global/
Although it still feels in a somewhat early stage, I love the initiative of GovStack to condense requirements and best practices for easy re-use. Such Building Blocks - more and more implemented as #opensource #digitialpublicinfrastructure could maybe finally boost digitization of public services :-)
@spipau sounds interesting but I have seen a number of initiatives to build discussion groups and networks. Pretty much every single one just died out of inactivity, sadly ...
Maybe something very open like Mastodon is a promising option then
Looking for the #ICT4D community of change makers and experts of #tech4good 🙂
After some friends have been highlighting how great Twitter as an open expert community used to be, checking out Mastodon now.
