First light for my newly obtained astro-modified DSLR. Planning to use it for fixed shots of scenic sky views preferably with bright, long-tailed #comets NGC 7000 (North America Neb) 6 x 10 s (a bit too long), processed with Siril (Linux). Steep learning curve ahead for a seasoned visual observer.
Final get-together after a most interesting and entertaining day.
Last one before the BBQ is Uwe Pilz on the use of residual light amplifiers for astronomy. ☄️
Following again Michael Jäger with a look of today's chances for amateurs discovering comets. ☄️
Next one is yours truly, talking about vol2 of the unconfirmed comets book, showing a lot of examples. ☄️
Now Uwe Pilz on forward and backward scattering of light from cometary comae. ☄️
Now Hartmut Hoeft with his experiences entering the field of comet observation. Very entertaining talk! ☄️
Now Michael Jäger with the prospects for comets C/2023 A1 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) and 12P/Pons-Brooks. The introductory image shows 1P/Halley in 1986. ☄️
