#actuallyautistic #trans #queer dude. talking about whatever. he/him pronouns.
I was listening to the #ifbookscouldkill bonus episode on the whole Clinton email thing, and I got to thinking - I don’t think I have ever heard someone describe a woman as charismatic? Women get described as manipulative or, at best, cunning, for behaviors that are attributed to charisma in men.
@georgetakei who wants to place bets on how long until she gets class action sued and/or arrested for fraud?
@RickiTarr I also feel, as a Jewish person who isn’t particularly religious, that a lot of aggressive atheism reads as antisemitic and/or Islamophobic
oops I forgot to use social media for a bit
@spyro @AutisticAdam @alastair there’s also definitely a level of stress and/or urgency that circumvents executive dysfunction 😅
@RickiTarr corporations recognize that lgbtq people and POC are distinct & profitable markets. Fat and disabled people are stereotyped as being unproductive (and some disabled people cannot work 40 hours a week), which is not profitable to corporations. Under capitalism, corporate interests greatly influence social acceptance.
@alastair @AutisticAdam yeah that’s definitely part of it. Like I work as a dispatcher for a private ambulance company, which sounds stressful af, but there’s only so many types of things that can go wrong, and there’s protocols to deal with most of them. There’s no protocol to “deal” with a screaming child at a grocery store, because that child is just too young to have emotional regulation skills, and I can’t fix that 😅
@theautisticcoach @actuallyautistic I don’t feel until I must, and then I feel until I must stop. Not a conscious choice - perhaps a survival mechanism so I don’t go hungry whilst in the throes of grief.
Don’t worry, we’ll still have a four season climate, but the seasons will be: flooding, heat wave, fires, and hurricanes.
