As in: jobs at places that don’t use / refuse to use AI?

PHP's drop in "popularity" mirrors the post-2010 enshittification of the Web.
The longer I am in this industry, the more I believe the monopolists spread FUD about it because there is nothing more dangerous to them than a dominant Web stack that cannot have its value captured & extracted by one of them, yet is capable of spinning up competitors overnight by a labor market they haven't homogenized & deskilled.
#PHP might be the most dangerous Web tech for capital.
@ianh That just about matches my situation and feelings about the future of Laravel as a "platform" yeah.
I'm just a bit at a loss as to where to go next. There doesn't seem to be an obvious framework to move to that shares the pragmatism and "batteries included" approach of Laravel without also being an AI-drunk mess.
Incredibly lukewarm take; try {..} catch {..} is the literal worst pattern to have spread this widely.
And, as always, it's especially horrendous in #JavaScript
So… #hetzner is raising their prices by like ~40%-ish and say that’s due to AI gobbling up the global DRAM supply.
I would love to know how that math works out. Like, legitimately I’m curious. Because they are raising the prices for all _existing_ instances. Is that just a clever way to distribute the increased costs across the user base so that new instances don’t get obscenely expensive? Or are they actually also giving themselves a neat lil profit rise with this?
