This shows how we first take intuitive stances then back it up with reasoning. For the believent intuition wins, reasoning becoming rationalization. For the nonbelievent, reasoning wins by either finding objective justification for the intuition or overriding it according to the evidence and good logic.

I think it is a mistake to suggest that a bigot is somehow less of a “real Christian” because they are a bigot. There is ample evidence that bigotry can exist among Christians. "Christian" is not synonymous with moral goodness. We should be more careful about perpetuating this harmful myth.
