@heiglandreas @ramsey Yeah I am still getting my head around the Fediverse and seeing if it makes sense for php[architect] to establish an instance. Obviously, I wouldn't want to fragment the community or commercialize it but if there if we can contribute in a positive way I would like to explore that. All that to say, on the surface, your CFP instance seems like a good idea.

The rabbit hole goes even deeper past that. OSS was never about not being able to make a living. It was about making sure the software that runs the world was accessible to everyone to look up, study, modify and build on.

(4/5) A layer deeper, @calebporzio creates one of his primary OSS packages Livewire, a package for Laravel. Caleb now has premium support for Livewire, allowing him to make a living. Livewire on top of Laravel on top of PHP on top of an endless line of other OSS and packages.
(3/5) Starting with @taylorotwell, who with the help of other OSS projects PHP, and Symfony, creates an OSS framework called Laravel. He then builds several premium products (Forge, Envoyer, Nova, Vapor) with the Laravel framework that complements the Laravel Framework.
