Biologist working in science communication. Gay. Irish. He/Him.
I've been drawing my friends' cats lately, and I'm quite proud of this one.
Science concepts do not belong to English. My favourite slide in today’s presentation by Dr Alicia Wooten on ‘Living and breathing science in ASL’.
Today is #TransDayOfRemembrance. A day to remember and honour trans people we've lost to transphobia and violence, and to reflect on our role in protecting trans futures.
From a recent visit to an Grianán Ailigh (Grianán of Aileach) - a hillfort in #Donegal, probably built in the 6th or 7th century, destroyed by the King of Munster at the start of the 12th century, and rebuilt from the ruins in the 19th century (with further restoration work in this century). It's a strange patchwork of eras, but it really is a magical place.
A bit of an #Introduction post so I can hopefully find old and new friends here.
I’m a #Biologist living in #Dublin, working in #ScienceCommunication. I make #Podcasts and work with #Museums, and I recently returned to research with a focus on #SciComm and community engagement.
I’m #Gay and would love to connect with #LGBTQinSTEM folks here. I also do things for #LGBTQSTEMDay.
I like the sea!
Got myself a present in town.

I'm new to Mastodon, so I wanted to share this for any #LGBTQinSTEM folks on here.

The Queer Variable is a collection of interviews with LGBTQ+ people in STEM that @DrCarpineti and I put together to celebrate and share knowledge from our community.

You can download it as a free ebook here: https://prideinstem.org/the-queer-variable/

Having real ‘first day on campus and happy to see a familiar face’ vibes
Sharing a relatively recent drawing I did of Alan Turing as my first post on here. Hi!
