If my goal was to design a product to absolutely MAXIMIZE the number of times it would get dropped… I’m not sure I could do better than the AirPods case.
@atpfm I wonder if I'm the only person who has had a problem with "optimize Mac storage" on the Mac *still* consuming the entire disk, then refusing to sync more photos because the disk is full. Just me? Probably... Very frustrating because there's no obvious way to force it to purge some stuff.
@atpfm You're right that the masses care about convenience and price over quality. But we should be thanking, not dismissing, the minority who do care about quality. Caring about quality is not a character flaw. Those are the people who push for improvements that trickle down to everyone else. Is the person who spends more and inconveniences themself for a 1% improvement in video source quality all that different than someone who buys a Mac Pro to do... whatever John does on his Mac Pro?
@EndlessMason @chockenberry True, but also I don't think I have edited that file since then 😅

@chockenberry Pretty sure I was still using rcs (not even cvs) to version control my HTML files back then. Actual snippet from one of my html files:

@atpfm as someone who ai-coded a music playback app to fit my needs and my needs only (so niche that I will probably never put it on the App Store), I highly recommend it. I knocked this out in a few hours and it’s been great. Never would have been worth the effort if I had to actually write it by hand. This app exists to help my goal of listening to full albums, in order, like the old days.
The way we were…
Maybe it's just an unrelated bug, I dunno...
Is this "remove history items after one year" Safari setting supposed to remove the item one year after it was first seen, or one year after it was last seen? I kind of assumed the latter, but it seems more like the former — about once a year, I effectively lose ALL of my history items in Safari, even stuff I just visited, which is very annoying. I changed the setting to "manually" for now, but it would be nice to know what it's actually supposed to do…
@siracusa Ah, interesting. I was picturing something I could adapt to use my existing pump (since it matches the other hardware). But I guess I could rig something like that myself...
