@tekbuddha Any data point is helpful! We have one car with factory CarPlay and one aftermarket, both wireless. I suppose I *have* had some problems on the one with factory CarPlay too, but it seems less frequent. Then again, I don't drive that car as often. So maybe the aftermarket CarPlay unit is a red herring...
Is anyone else having problems with wireless CarPlay in iOS 26 (and/or with iPhone 17 Pro)? I’m not sure if my aftermarket CarPlay unit is flaking out or if something else is going on. Lately it just occasionally fails to pair. Seems too coincidental that it started around the time I upgraded phones, but who knows…
Coming up on four months since I left my tech job. Not missing it yet…
One of my least favorite skills I picked up in my decades working in tech is the ability to immediately see when a feature has been made worse for users in order to improve some metric that the company (or an individual PM) has decided is important.
So glad that I have Claude to write code, so I can spend my time working on the actual interesting problems.
I've been shooting more film lately. In the early 90s, I was doing photojournalism (hoping to make it into a career), so I was well-acquainted with making do with insufficient light. But I am out of practice, and there are definitely some things I need to re-learn. Still, it's been a lot of fun so far. This was shot on Portra 800, with the Nikon N6006 I saved up for and bought new in high school.
@dmoren I'm still very happy with my Studio Display, and glad I didn't believe the rumors from when it came out that a better model was coming "any day now." I don't even think the camera is all that bad. The whole thing works great for my needs.
When I was trying to remember if my laptop even supported 120 Hz, I found that I've had it off for who knows how long. Turned it back on, and yep... Still can't tell any difference! I guess I should be thankful that computer displays are the one thing I have cheap taste in (though I guess not really, since I have a Studio Display; I'm just not tempted at all to upgrade for better refresh rates)...
@vandorb12 @atpfm I don't notice the difference at all in 120 Hz on my phone (I can toggle it on and off and can't tell any difference at all), and I also don't notice it going back and forth between my MacBook Pro (which I *think* does 120 Hz? I can't even remember) and my existing Studio Display. Which is why I am doubtful...
