A middle aged IT guy that doesn’t actually do a heck of a lot on social media anymore.

We roll TMP and WOK together, ignoring the aggressive way Kirk rolled over Decker. Decker is still XO, but he’s more than happy to butt heads with Kirk.
Kirk has accepted admirality, of course. Spock is seeking Kolinahr with the surviving Vulcans. Scotty has perfected the replicator. Uhura is teaching at the Academy and pulled back to active duty to communicate with the entity. Sulu is captaining the Enterprise. Everyone remembers Chekov. McCoy has a massive beard and is doing medicine on New Vulcan with Spock, much to the chagrin of the Vulcans.
Because V’ger is out there, trying to report back to the creator.

Chris Pine is 45. Bill Shatner was 47 in ST: The Motion Picture.

We are now at a point where we have the opportunity to remake TMP, with modern writing and effects, let Kelvin Trek escape the clutches of JJ’s hacky writing, and become the perfect reincarnation of thinking and action Star Trek.

Got my modren #C64 power supply, and powered up the unit I got, and it works! … kinda. The sound is very quiet and has a bad buzz, so I’m guessing there’s a bad capacitor, maybe?

As a larf, I also hooked it up to the #C64c that I had in a tote… and it also worked, and better than the other one! It got a dunking in a flood a while back, so I need to open it up and see how bad it is inside… but it played the little music program I typed in!

Old computers are cool and weird, man.

#Commodore64

I picked up a nice, working #Commodore64 system for a decent price. Now I just need to acquire a new power supply, so it doesn’t blow up.

Anyone know where I could get one in Canada? I’m assuming I’m gonna need to mail order it, since the retro tech scene in Sask is kinda small.

I think that we actually DID hit “ultimate novelty” in 2012, just like #TerenceMcKenna predicted… the last 16 years feels like things have been repeating over and over.
