I found a bean!

Well, this is... interesting. Current readings around Chernobyl. I have absolutely no idea what this means, but apparently Chernobyl is way more radioactive now?

Did you know cheetahs dance at speeds imperceptible to the human eye? It's true!

We slowed one down for you.

I just noticed something cool in Baldur's Gate 3.

When that kid does the coin flip scam, you can see that her thumb is above, not below the coin as she tosses it.

This isn't an animation error. This is a good way to do the trick.

@shadowcheets That is both cool & impressive, in both directions! 👀✨🎉
@shadowcheets wait, is the trick that the coin in thrown flat, spinning like a frisbee to give it stability, and thus starts and ends with the same face up?

@OctaviaConAmore Pretty much! But you also throw it so it wobbles so it looks like it's flipping, even though the same side always faces up.

It takes a little practice, but you can learn it surprisingly fast. Mark Rober has a super old video on it. He uses a different flipping technique but the principle is the same.

@shadowcheets oh, that makes a lot of sense  I don't know if I have any use for the trick, but it's really fun to learn how they work  thanks for the detailed description

@OctaviaConAmore It'll help you out if you ever have to sell Lucky Rings for 5 coppers. :D

And if someone ever tries the trick on you, the way you can tell is the coin makes an hourglass shape instead of a sphere while it's in the air. ;3

@OctaviaConAmore If you want to learn, the tiefling uses a more reliable method.

You sort of pinch the quarter between your fingers, and then very lightly "snap" as you toss it. It takes a bit to get the motion right, but once you do, it allows you to control the wobble much better than Mark's method. :P
