Death no longer fears Chuck Norris.
Eid Mubarak.

It is an exciting day in our household. The food waste bins have finally arrived!

Our daughter, who was born prematurely at 23+4 weeks, was signed off from the neonatal paediatric team today. Words cannot express how proud I am of her or of the NHS. It has been a long nearly 4.5 years but we got there.

Happy International Women's Day.

Today is a day to celebrate women while remembering the levels of violence and inequality still shown against women all around the world. With events in the world today I will be remembering that.

I wish I could be in the room where it happens! #Hamilton

Actor who won a Tony award in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hit musical will reprise the role for West End debut

The Spitfire was designed by R.J. (Reginald Joseph) Mitchell who was working on improvements until his death from cancer in 1937. He didn't live to see his work in action during WWII, but his widow survived long enough to do so. They are buried in Swaythling in Stoneham Cemetery (I regularly walk there and stop by to say hello to them). R.J. Mitchell has been honoured by the University of Southampton who are keeping his legacy alive through their wind tunnel that is named after him.
On this day 90 years ago the first test flight of a Spitfire happened from Eastleigh Airfield (now Southampton Airport). This plane would go on to make a huge difference in the Battle of Britain and throughout WWII.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been arrested. Things are about to get interesting. #News

Note to self: the new kitchen knives you got for your birthday are, indeed, very sharp and will hurt if you cut your finger with one.

Yup, that's what I did. Cut about a third off of my nail on the left index finger and took a chunk of flesh with it. No, I did not go to the minor injuries unit, I used my epic first aid skills to patch myself up and carried on making dinner...hard core.
