interesting to note that latin america and, i'd imagine, most of the Global South very much embrace play and the western-lization of our people is what is killing this (i don't agree that latin america is part of the western world in the sense europeans and yankies understand it)

i am of the notion that things should be done for fun and Rust can be that for you, fine. don't really agree with the whole rewrite of the utils for a rewrite's own sake, but doesn't really matter in this particular discussion

it makes me wonder how much of the hate for Rust (aside from technical stuff, which is still political btw, never forget all our human/non-human relations are political) is rooted in the fact that so much of the queer community in general adopted it so massively, specially by conservative "do it in C like a based Chad" types do. the way Rust is treated as a Big Conspiracy of the "((they)) want to get us!" kind is really weird. My guess is a lot of it is rotted on that, actually
