UPDATE: Nine. 9 countries. Sweden passed the threshold *while I was writing that last post*.
The "end of the collection period" is May 17 (so seven hours from now… plus 24 if the person who told me it's *EOD* May 17 is correct) so if you're an EU national you can still vote to run up the numbers and convince EU Parliament you're serious. Also:
- If 4,343 Italians sign, it's ten countries endorsing
- 5,308 Austrians makes it eleven
- 6,794 from Portugal makes it twelve
Die EU-Bürgeriniative gegen #Konversionstherapie (also "Heilverfahren" gegen LGBTQs) endet heute, 16.5., nacht, um 23:59:59 Uhr MESZ. Sie hat schon das Länderquorum erfüllt, braucht aber noch genug Unterstützende insgesamt. Egal aus welchem (EU-)Land.
Mainstream-abweichende Gender-Identitäten sind keine Krankheit und brauchen keine "Heilung".

📌 A friendly request to all who use the misleading term “conversion therapy”:
Please stop referring to conversion practices targeting LGBTQ+ citizens in the EU as "conversion therapy".
Why? Conversion practices are torture. They are discriminatory, degrading, harmful and fraudulent.
If we continue to use the misleading term of "therapy", which has a positive connotation, people will continue to believe that it would be a good thing to do.
Language matters.
