Where are all those people that bought bitcoin worth $100 in 2011 back when I was still studying and people were buying club mate in hacker spaces with it?

I'm earning a few bucks per week via liberapay to work on this. You can do the math yourself how many hours a software engineer usually works for that kind of money.

I find this quite frustrating, how is it possible that no well-equipped philanthropist ever finds my request for funding this work. There must be some crypto-whales out there that like Briar! I created three different wallets, but nobody ever sent anything: https://mastodon.social/@sebfloss/113899844366794246

As the current version of Briar Desktop is about to expire in a week, I am working on the next release. Every time I do this, there's so much churn to cope with just to get a new version out the door. First we had some trouble with our Windows tor binaries. We found out in December and got it fixed, but now there's a problem with the Linux tor binaries.

Iterations are very slow when working on this, so it looks like I'm going to be working on this the whole weekend.

@zhenech Interesting, no idea honestly. In my case, being able to sign and notarize on Linux increases automation without having to hand over my Apple credentials to third parties (some third party online CIs running macOS)
Fun fact: the macOS binaries have been signed on Linux this time. Thanks to https://gregoryszorc.com/docs/apple-codesign/stable/

Work on Briar Desktop 0.6.4 has begun. Sorry, we're a bit late again as the current release is about to expire in 11 days.

It's planned to add support for more recent Debian Bookworm and Ubuntu Noble as well as AppImages for X64 and Arm64 Linux!

I found a thing called "zalgo", there are generators for that online, it looks similar, but doesn't seem to be exactly that thing.
