i finally did it and bought my first domain. i'm going to try and set up the homepage today.

i'm not sure if i want to use github to manage the site. i don't actually know how to do it through github yet. and i don't even really want to make it the long-term solution. but github is intimidating and i'd rather start learning it voluntarily before i'm under pressure from a class in school, because i know it's coming eventually.

does anyone know of any github guides written for absolute noobs?

I've got a lot of fabulous quilts to choose from, check these out! If you see one that you'd like to invite into your interior, let me know, theyre all really finely made by an expert level quilter, my very talented mom. None of them have been used or displayed or anything, theyve just been sealed up in storage trunks in my mom's attic for years and years 🤍 #quilt #quilts #quilting #arts #art #artists #handmade #artsandcrafts #decor #interiordecorating #quilter #quilters #artmarket #artfinder
while it's technically the least significant assignment in this class, possibly between both of my classes, my first official grade on the books for school is 20/20 on a quiz :D

so instead of the case of redbull (which is still an option!) a friend recommended ghost energy products. the brand as a whole is a bit much for me marketing wise, to the point i wasn't interested. but i trust his judgment. a canister of their "gamer fuel" IS cheaper per serving than redbull is.

the flavor is good, not amazing, and ever so slightly chalky. but a big plus over redbull is that drinking it doesn't suppress my urge to drink water.

actual energy and focus assessment to come later.

i made an account on another instance to have a more focused feed for my academic interests. i gotta say uhhhhhh, the vibes were off over there.

i'm gonna leave that account just so i have the username there, but it all serves as a good reminder just how good and rare the kind of community we have here is.

i guess i'll just make that more focused second account on this instance at some point, and have this one for my personal chatter.

when i set up my laptop (last week), i wanted to start w/ a local account. windows forced me to use an online acct.

2/3 of the time it loads a local acct on startup because "can't load" my online acct. i have to shut down at least once more for it to load properly. i'm not trying to leave it on 24/7. my last laptop died unexpectedly after just over a year of use, and while i now know it was a known issue w/ that model, i'm nervous. i want this laptop to work AND last.

am i being too paranoid?

also, i'll be trying out a new way to take notes. my brain doesn't really engage at all with silent reading anymore, and it was super easy to get distracted. husband asked me about the readings just as friendly conversation and i was horrified to find that i'd retained next to nothing.

it looks like reading out loud and voice typing my notes will be a more effective way to go for now. no copy/pasta-ing allowed.

although in defense of my brain i've also been developing my workflow, since 100% online school is entirely new to me. AND i have to work around the fact that the assigned reading links don't work and i have to take the time to manually find the sections in the "ebook", which is kind of actually a whole website? thank goodness for ctrl+f.

definitely gonna be fighting my attention span the whole way through school. i've been poking around my english class with the intent of trying to get ahead, but it's actually been slow going.

stocking up on redbull is a valid use of loan funds, yeah? (legitimately, redbull is the best self-medication i've personally found to effectively focus my brain thus far.)
