［Anxious cat Ame update］

Thanks to everyone’s advice and more patience, Ame is doing pretty well.

She is eating snacks, more willing to explore her home, and generally trusts me.

Problem is she runs away whenever anyone visits me so my friends were never able to see her in person.

Ame also hates me talking to other women on phone or watching YouTube so she makes sure she is screaming at my ear when I do that.

Thinking about getting extra litter box for when I sleep.

Weekly update on anxious cat Ame:

She is getting more comfortable. However there are a few questions I hope experts on Mastodon can help with:

- Ame would very weakly bite my hand or leg while playing. Should I do anything about it?

- She is afraid of the toy fish I bought to get her some exercise. I thought cats are hunters?

- Her meow is more like baby crying than normal meow.

- she likes to play with me after 11pm…can I make it earlier?

Thank you everyone for your advice on my cat Ame! She is doing so much better this week.

What made it work?

Patience, anti-anxiety med, and pheromone! (Okay mainly the pheromone)

She is now roaming the home freely and wakes me up at 7am. I got an auto alarm at will not go off from now on!

Still have a lot to work on. I still don’t understand why sometimes she is meowing at me.

She also don’t seem to like the idea that I’m looking at my iPad instead of her. 🤣

An update about my easily scared cat Ame.

Since being able to feed her snacks, she looks less scared but still couldn't pet her or get too close.

At least she likes the cat scratcher.

I hope cat herb (coming soon) can help her calm down.

I also move the food further and further away from the shelf everyday to encourage her to explore the environment. Sometimes I can hear her roam the house when I sleep.

Honestly asking for advice.

I took up a cat three weeks ago from a friend who had to let go of her because she was being bullied by two other cats.

The cat is very very easily frightened. She is now living on top of a shelf in the storage room. A place that she chose.

She would not let me get anywhere close to her except last night when I offered snack.

Occasionally she would "meow" me to notify that she had peed.

Will she eventually come around? Anything I should do?

Just tried "20 Minutes Till Dawn"

Surprisingly decent.
More difficult and intense than Vampire Survivor due to the need to aim.

Worth trying if you like the genre.
