Little Robin Redbreast. You are small yet filled with might. In my garden you make quite a special sight. You, a bold and brave spec, land on a garden twig. I admire your beauty from afar. When you flit away, my heart is left ajar. I'm left with a smile on my lips, yearning for our next meeting and your distinct twittering greeting.
The warm remnants of Autumn crisps beneath boot. This wild memory is cast in reddish hue. Eternally evergreen in the deep green wood. Happiness is dirt brown mud. Looking for the next adventure to satisfy, searching soul. Being one with nature creates feeling of being whole.
Another day of litterpicking, another day of hoping for a greener, cleaner future. It was particularly bad on the beach today. I think it was because of the wind blowing the rubbish everywhere! But I persist! I will be the change I want to see in this world.
This Oyster Catcher is here to wish you a very happy Wednesday!
Ode to Skin
be comfortable in your skin
is what all the happy experts say
but what isn't said
what needs to be said
is that skin sheds daily
the skin you were in is
a different one to yesterday
and it's OK if you're still learning to accept
like the snake, our skin and
the person we are deep within
changes and evolves
instead of being comfortable,
let's embrace new growth and
accept our skin with open minds
small sparrow bandits
spill their secrets to the wind
then flit fly away
