I'm an avid Linux user with a preference for immutable distros. Currently daily driving

I used to be an esports writer with a particular focus on the FGC and the Super Smash Bros. community. I was managing editor of the Smashboards news section for 6 years and did freelance work for Tempo Storm and PGStats. Also spent 3 years in call center hell and am currently looking for work.

I have a few other accounts scattered across the fediverse. I'll list them all here when I get around to it.
@arstechnica I'm not gonna lie, my dyslexic ass read "Saliva" as "Salvia" for a moment and I was just like ayo?
@emaytch honestly I think the answer to that question genuinely is yes, they're disconnected from humanity enough that they can't tell the difference.

I worked in a call center for three years and we had to deal with shit like corporate pivoting from telling us not to say where we're located for the sake of opsec to having us tell every customer where we're located at the start of every call less than a year after someone showed up to a call center in person making bomb threats. I'm convinced that if you're far enough removed from the people actually doing the work supporting your product, you develop some really stupid ideas about what makes for good customer service. Using a chatbot only makes that worse by adding an extra layer of obfuscation between workers and customers
@emaytch tbh I think that it's time for another serious third-party movement. If Democratic leadership is dead-set on trying to shut down the party's left wing and drift hard right, then it seems to me that the clear path forward for the American left is to break off entirely.
@privateger reminds me of how there's a bug with steaminput that makes certain controllers impossible to configure on some accounts
@16af93 cis-het but with a couple levels in the gray-ace prestige class
@nixCraft instructions unclear. Installed Linux on an older MacBook Pro and hackintoshed my ThinkPad
@markpitblado @thelinuxcast Gruvbox is my favorite out of those four, but Kanagawa is probably my favorite overall
@esm @JuxGD @eblu as far as non-fork projects without a flagship instance go, there is the .NET rewrite of IceShrimp
@ned oh yeah, this has been a problem for a few years now, even before the current uptick in companies trying to shove AI in everything, and I've definitely noticed that it was getting worse

I used to work in a call center and I'd constantly get calls from people who had either previously spoken with someone who was clearly a scammer after googling the number for my employer at the time, or who got our number while trying to get the number for another company in the same industry
@nixCraft 2022, though I was considering switching to Linux as far back as 2011
