In Arizona, Election Deniers Suddenly Decry Voter Suppression

From Marc | Since losing her election for Arizona governor, Kari Lake has become deeply concerned with, of all things, voter suppression.

I often say that election security is by far the hardest technical problem I've ever encountered. Why? Four reasons:

1) Contradictory critical requirements, particularly vote secrecy vs. transparency.

2) No truly neutral trusted third parties.

3) Election do-overs are generally impossible, so the ability to merely detect problems is insufficient. You have to reliably prevent them.

4) Much of the technology than can manage the complexity of elections is inherently untrustworthy.

Meanwhile, the net worth of middle-class families continues to decline.

Folks, this is unsustainable.

To put it mildly, I think the House Progressive Caucus has a much better claim to electoral popularity and basic moral righteousness than the GOP Nihilist Caucus does. And yet they would face 100 times the punishment for this sort of behavior. Make of it what you will. /end

Somewhere in the U.S. Capitol, Dem staffers are working on speeches to be given on the House floor January 6th if Rebublicans still haven't chosen a Speaker.

"Two years ago today, the same people who today are preventing the House from doing its work on behalf of the American people, aided and abetted an angry mob that tried that day to prevent the entire U.S. congress from doing the very same thing."

Let's see. Robert’s #SCOTUS pulls the plug on gun safety, women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, voting rights, EPA & CDC authorities while ignoring activist election denialism by one Justice’s wife [aka "Ginni"], and the first thing that comes to his mind is safety for the “Brethren?” Come on.

In Year-End Report, Chief Justice Roberts Addresses Threats to Judges’ Safety

The report, an annual tradition, shed no light on the investigation into the leak of a draft opinion in May or on calls for more rigorous ethics rules for the justices.

In just six days I make my London stage debut. Don’t ever let anyone say you can’t keep dreaming and having to pinch yourself, even at age 85.
