Think of people around the world tonight who need Twitter to get their voices heard, to document human rights abuses and injustices, to get attention, expose war crimes, and more.

All of them could be about to be cut off because the world’s richest man wanted to own the libs.

That Twitter gave us a place to mourn together has been one of its greatest gifts. It only makes sense to me that we rushed to hold each other's hands tonight.

You know what, I know it's The Done Thing to hate this website, but one reason I love it is that there's always a place for people who are feeling sad about the death of a stranger to express that sorrow & mourn together, one of the most human things any group of humans can do.
