@mjgardner @nixCraft based on doesn't mean it follows the principles of the gnu operating system, or follows any standards projects should abide by. Android may be a fork of the Linux kernel, but that doesn't mean it mostly uses the gnu userland utilities. It doesn't use the standard display servers, uses different system calls from vanilla linux, and does all kinds of tricks like preventing the user from deleting apps like YouTube, or any Google app for that matter.
