@caseyliss I recently got into selfhosting. I bought a Beelink mini NAS. It has slots for 6 SSDs. You can use 5 for storage and 1 for the operating system. I use TrueNAS, it has been smooth so far.
I host:
- Immich
- Jellyfin
- ChangeDectection.io
- wardenvault
- tailscale
- bentopdf
- smb file mount
It is a bit expensive to install SSDs, but it should fix your write bottleneck.

Almost 15 years ago I went to the Jon Stewart's / Stephen Colbert's Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear. At the time, I felt the US couldn't become more divided. It did. Today I am worried that it will become more fractured. I hope I am wrong.

@josevazquez there are so many feelings here to address. I will say that it is natural and caring to think about how to care for a loved one who needs support.
I am also grateful you felt so much support across different communities.
There is no right way or wrong way to grieve. Feel how you want. And like your sister, know that people love you. ❤️
Yesterday's blackout in Portugal was really eye opening. Here are a few random thoughts.
I am thankful that my home wifi is on a battery that lasts at least a day.
I never heard the term "black start" before yesterday. Apparently that is the process to restart the grid after everything is offline.
No matter how much you prepare for extreme situations you can't control everything. You need a lot of personal luck. I am glad I wasn't in an elevator or underground on the metro.
