We are aware of recent reports regarding targeted phishing attacks that have resulted in account takeovers of some Signal users, including government officials and journalists. We take this very seriously.
To be clear: Signal’s encryption and infrastructure have not been compromised and remain robust. These attacks were executed via sophisticated phishing campaigns, designed to trick users into sharing information – SMS codes and/or Signal PIN – to gain access to users’ accounts.

If all you need is CalDav and CardDav, I can recommend Radicale, which I'm running for some years. If you need additionally group calendars and central data storage (and much, much more), Nextcloud is probably a good bet.
For direct file synchronization between devices, Syncthing is also really nice and since you already need a server, Vaultwarden is a nice backend for your passwords.
I mean, I had no plans of traveling to the foreseen future, but I guess now it's fully out of the question since I'd have to check the famous terrorist organization checkbox.
