The reactions to the university protests are terrifying. Universities could easily ignore the protests. But instead, they use violence. They also try to destroy these students - academically, socially (calling them terrorists/antisemites/etc), and physically.

And what for? So the genocide can continue?

#Trans #lesbian #feminist Beth Elliot’s response to #TERFs who attacked her at the West Coast Lesbian Conference, 1973

Since it’s #LGBTqia+ #history month it’s a good time to bring this back, with a minor correction- her surname is actually Elliott, with two t’s
Also here’s a photo of Beth from around the time she performed at the conference-

Back when TERFs were barely a thing, when as a movement they were only just coming into existence, one of the first trans #woman to be confronted with their shit already looked at them and realized that TERFs make damn good #fascists. It has been that obvious this whole time.

Biological invasions: Uncovering the impact of nonnative species removal 🌿

https://besjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/1365-2745.14168

This study demonstrates that removing invasive flora, like the Sweetbriar rose and Scotch broom, can disrupt species interactions and affect overall ecosystem function. This removal even influences the performance of native species. Such information could enhance future conservation efforts. #Botany #BotanyAI

If you've ever seen an odd growth like this on a tree and wondered what it was, it's a tumorous growth called "crown gall disease", caused by pathogenic strains of Agrobacterium.

After infiltrating a plant, they transfer genetic material into the plant's genome, prompting the tissue growth along with production of nutrients useful to the bacteria.

The mechanism can be repurposed for functions more helpful to humans as a form of genetic engineering.
