We are back! #C64 https://www.commodore.net/ The first official Commodore 64 in over 30 years is here - a faithful recreation of the original motherboard on FPGA hardware. HDMI, WiFi, USB, but compatible with every existing cartridge and peripheral. Not an emulator - a recreation. Same price as my first $299

It’s so frustrating that there is this illusion that we are all 49%/49% right now. Us versus them, good versus bad, and it’s all because of the BS that is the electoral system. It’s very likely 70% versus 30% and we’re just not seeing representative government. There’s just no common sense right now

With the clarity of hindsight, it's fine to say Honda would obviously nail a reusable rocket test

But, I don't think anyone outside the company actually expected this. Honda has a history of venturing out to experimental work E.G. robotics, but this is totally new

MCP is doing the heavy lifting here. I've written two "agentic" apps. I immediately realized I could improve both by replacing the LLM part with normal fucking code. The revolution here is MCP shoehorning API access into many more programs and services than we previously had https://worksonmymachine.substack.com/p/mcp-an-accidentally-universal-plugin

Reflecting on an incredible experience speaking at @TheLeadDev's #LDX3 conference last week! Very grateful to have been accepted as a speaker and for the amazing support throughout.

I enjoyed discussing challenges growing teams in the era of layoffs, and hopeful that my talk can provide some inspiration by treating teaching as a core engineering skill, applying lessons from pedagogy. one of my goals with "The Secret Rules of the Terminal" is to show you that you have a lot of choices about how your shell behaves, that a well-configured shell can make your life in the terminal a LOT easier, and that (if you're using bash or zsh) there's a strong chance that some of the defaults are not serving you well https://social.jvns.ca/@b0rk/114739372503856382

Dario recently forced me to create an account to continue using a blood sugar monitor I already own (😡), so of course I gave my name as "Fuck Off."

This turns out to have been an amazing decision, because they inject your name into their marketing emails. 😂

I know I'm late to the party to be finishing @karenhao's Empire of AI Now. But now that I've finished the book, I can tell you that it is nothing short of a masterpiece. It needs to be required reading for everyone in the tech industry, or anyone who wants to be in the tech industry.

The book also articulates why I've had such an aversion to OpenAI since its inception in 2015, more so than any other tech company.
