Today, #4d2 published our new "sunset policy", assuring those in our community that we won't unplug a service or wind down our operations without warning, and providing a financial set-aside to ensure that. It's been a wild ride from tiny hobby project to...big hobby project, I guess? but it's been a lot of fun.

I will plug my old-fashioned free email service at 4d2.org regardless 🙂 - we sell no ads and share no data, you can bring your own domain, you can use whatever IMAP client you like, etc.
@reconbot I'm not an expert, but I think the term you're looking for is "core loss" or "no-load loss", and 5% of the transformer's rated load would be something close to typical.
