On 19th March mamy states in India celerated a festival which has different flavor and name in different languages. In MH its called Gudi Padwa - Its a start of the new year (Shaliwahana calendar). Celebrated with a day long installation of Gudi seen in second photo.

Few more states will celebrate new year in next month. Overall most of India celebrates traditional new year in this period, which coincides with new cycle of farming.
Arrived home 🏡 after a couple of months to this.
Its summer here and already 35°C. So many households start to make these delicacies which are dried in open sunlight, and eaten throughout the year.
The brown one is Kharwadya (खारवड्या) - salty pieces, its a snacks item, either eaten as it is or fried. Its made from Bajra (millet).
The yellow one is moong wadya - made of moong (pulse). Good source of veg protein. It is made as curry and eaten with poli/bhakri or rice.
