E2EE means end-to-end, where the ends are the participants in the chat. They can read it on your phone, but not on their servers. They need their app to separately transmit the plaintext to their servers to read it.
And as we all know, the first 90% of writing an app takes the first 90% of the time, and the last 10% takes the other 90% of the time.
And in turn making revocation less & less of a pain. Since that was more of the pain, overall it's getting easier.
