Die Sammlung des Architekten und Bauhistorikers Albrecht Haupt (1852-1932) ist eine der wenigen noch geschlossen erhaltenen Sammlungen dieser Art in Deutschland. Seit 1901 gehören Haupts historische Bibliothek, seine Sammlungen europäischer Handzeichnungen und Druckgraphiken sowie seine eigenhändigen Reiseskizzen zu den Sonderbeständen der https://openbiblio.social/@tibhannover und werden gegenwärtig digital erschlossen und zugänglich gemacht.

Unsere Kuratorin Birte Rubach hat ein Set aus drei Kupferstichen ausgewählt, dass drei Ansichten der Bronzeplastik Merkur und Psyche von Adriaen de Vries (1545/46 oder 1556­–1626/27) zeigt. Das Motiv für die Figurengruppe ist einer Szene aus der Geschichte Amor und Psyche aus den Metamorphosen des Apuleius (2. Jh. n. Chr.) entnommen.

Our curator Birte Rubach picked a set of three engravings, that show three different views of the bronze sculpture Mercury and Psyche by Adriaen de Vries (1545/46 or 1556-1626/27). The motif for the group of figures is taken from a scene in the story of Cupid and Psyche from Apuleius' Metamorphoses (2nd cent. AD).
