Corporations have no idea how seldom older people access email. Or how often they created an email address just to satisfy an account creation requirement and then never checked it.

(This post brought to you by my afternoon spent trying to reset the password for the Xbox account for a family member who has never, not once, used the email address in question.)

@juglugs reminds me of
(Follow-up details on the library stupidity)
Pro-censorship board members: "The library thinks PARENTS should decide what their teens read. We disagree. We think WE should. So we're moving YA books we don't like to the adult section. That way, we're not banning them, and the teens can find actual adult stuff to read, too! Also: the library director, who's done everything we asked, is why people think this is a stupid, expensive waste of time, so we want to fire her."
Did you hear about the pro-censorship library board members who, in response to negative attention for their policies, met in a coffee shop and loudly discussed ways of firing the library director as a response to the backlash they're getting for having moved most YA books to the adult section?
(The notes about what they said are on the bird site, posted by someone sitting nearby.)

Personally, I don’t think I should have to start every single morning with, ‘better check to see if Microsoft broke anything overnight,’ but HERE WE ARE.

(This comment brought to you by the fact that I didn't check this morning, and yes, a server had restarted on its own.)

Another J6er, who 'expected a civil war to break out if Trump wasn't returned to the presidency,' goes down.

I still think social media echo chambers were instrumental in setting the stage for that day. They all believed they were the majority, because they were surrounded by people online telling them they were.
