Was kept awake by a moron neighbor somewhere in my apartment building doing god knows what to produce this sound until 1 past midnight. Two nights in a row. Had to spend last night at my mom's apartment in order to get some actual fucking rest.

Been sulking all weekend, absolutely dreading the coming work week.

Wanted to see what the difference between the colours at the hardest challenges were. Indeed, the hex values would only differ by one in one or sometimes two channels. I was not able to tell the difference even with gpick telling me exactly where the border was.

Ok, the new Geometry Attribute bone constraint in Blender lets you do some really cool stuff. Here is a pretty decent simulation of a roller coaster wheel assembly properly following the rails. This is all driven by a single input to a geometry node tree and that input could be replaced by the output of a simulation zone if one wanted to. The track is defined by a single nurbs curve.

Proof of contept, excuse the janky mechanical engineering and track.

In the remote chance that this will help anyone else: If you have a year-ish old blender file in which you modify the nurbs_order of a spline using geometry nodes, this will fail in newer blender versions. You will need to set the data type to 8-bit integer now. I was struggling to find any posts about this and had to dig into the blender commit log for a hint.

(The error message Failed to write to attribute "nurbs_order" with domain "Spline" and type "Integer" is not what I consider a self-explanatory one)
