I've made a simple demo app and added it to my Apple Feedback. Here's another video with a very simple example. Again the first phone is iOS 26.5 and the second is iOS 27 beta 1 (beta 2 doesn't have the fix yet either)

Did you catch the WWDC Swift Group Lab session? It was great!
But, there wasn't time for all the questions. So I copied them down and took a shot at answering some.
IPA pronunciations are broken in iOS 27.0 beta 1!
If this doesn't get fixed before release every audio pronunciation for over 4000 words in the Wordhord will be broken and my users will be very disappointed.
It seems like iOS 27 is just ignoring any IPA symbols and attempting to speak the remaining characters.
Please share with any AVFoundation Apple people you might know.
