I study mitochondrial physiology and evolution with a focus on co-adaptation and co-evolution in a diverse set of cool critters.

Also I'm fascinated with vibrant coloration in animals and want to work out the details of how they are produced.

I'm one year in to my first faculty job and am recruiting grad students to join my lab at Iowa State University.
