I made a sign to show my support. Might be in a red state, but I think it's important to show were not alone out here!
I spent some time venting my laser. When I ordered my #xTool #F1Ultra I also ordered a larger exhaust fan for my #Omtech #K40. It's impressive how much better cutting is with the (much) more powerful fan, compared to the 4in inline I was using before.
I need to figure out how to lock the board in the window (to compress the weather stripping) and am thinking screw tabs. Plus a way to compress the window (and the whole board with it) for the top seals.
I'm not sure what happened with the 'wa' in always.... I apparently sent it to the machine that way though.... But other than the part where I cracked the glaze down to the handle, I'm pretty happy with what I learned! I'm not gonna stay up tonight to do the other side, but it's nice to see some 'real' projects from this!
I also engraved the inside of the lid it'll be visible when loading\unloading the basket. I engraved this upset down and didn't quite center it, but otherwise the engraving looks good. I learned that this applies enough heat to warp the lid over, so I'll need to flatten it somehow 😲😂🤣
I'm working on the teapot itself now, and the crazing has me a little worried... The 'tink' sounds are very disconcerting, even though I can not see anything cracked or broken from here. Fingers crossed!
Earlier this week I bought a teapot from the thrift store for a few bucks. For the last decade I usually make tea in a cup, and just set the strainer aside... But it was too good to pass up.
I've been spending my Saturday evening making cosmetic changes with a #laser... Learned some things!
Even though there is no background, #xTool #xcs still applied a cut for this in eboss mode. I should have set the z step lower, I'm pretty sure I went out of focus about 8 of 32 layers in.
Many moons ago, I started getting some weird power button issues with my #SteamDeck. As a *temporary* troubleshooting measure, I removed the button to determine if it was the button itself or the tac switch underneath. I tried figuring out what the problem was, to no avail. I've been using it like that (mostly docked) for at least a year.
Finally, I decided I'd figure it out, but couldn't find the button. #LEGO saves the day, as a slight trimming on the stud works! Nice, clicky and flush!
Monthly coffee order day! I love getting a new bag from #TheRovongHouse both because I find their coffee delightful, but the coffee club bags include an adorable pin!
It not quite the same as picking up a bag roasted fresh the night before from my local (now out of business 😭) roaster, but it still makes me joyful!
I've been working from home most days of late, and with the time I've clawed back from my commute, I've been getting back into old hobbies. I've been fascinated by LEGO light sets, and when I didn't find a light set I was happy with on the market, applied a customer solution. I'm loving the look, and it makes me happy to have it next to my desk through the work day, and have even found it soothing at times.
