Also in this issue: an update on the Substack / Nazi situation. We're meeting with the company this week in hopes Substack will remove all pro-Nazi material under its existing anti-hate policies. Can’t believe they’re going to roll 2024 out to Production late on a Sunday, right before a public holiday, without testing it in Staging, and without fixing any of the bugs in 2023.

New, by me and @carlypage: Millions are affected by a breach at Postmeds, the parent company of online pharmacy startup Truepill.

For some, it’s the first they’re hearing of Postmeds, which has fulfilled prescriptions for Folx, Hims, Cerebral, GoodRx, and many others.

by @liztai

Is the Internet really broken?

My thoughts about The Verge’s article, The people who ruined the Internet and Danny Sullivan’s response, and the conversation swirling around SEO and the suckiness of the Internet.

This is the real, human cost of mass surveillance of everyone's private digital communications.

If we actually care about keeping people safe, we need more end-to-end encryption not less.

Today’s Dog of War is this dog that Tim took outside a gas station in Ukraine.

Many stray dogs live around gas stations because there is an iron rule, apparently: Always feed the dogs when you leave the gas station register with food.

Stay safe out there!

And Then Satan Said:

We are going to separate into breakout groups of five people, after 8 min. each group will present what they discussed in the main group.

This one cuts deep:
The modern condition is mostly trying to do things on your own that people have historically achieved with a large support network and wondering why you're tired all the time.
