@Tipa ok, I guess I got work to do.
nonetheless to me it doesn't matter if you can grind cash in-game. What matters if there's a credit card details barrier to just playing a video game.
If there is, I'm gonna avoid the game.
I want unique + F2P/P2P upgrade like Runescape and some of the other games you mentioned.
I wish I could give these "mechanics" names so I won't have to use words to try to describe them all the time.
Or perhaps they aren't mechanics, I don't know.
What do you think? Is the system of allowing F2P to go into P2P a mechanic or a system or what? I'm not saying this in any aggressive manner, I'm just lost...and am seeking someone to invent new stuff with 🙂, if needed.
well it's a game. You wanna apply to join Jagex? I mean, what do you have to lose?
I wouldn't apply. I just play the game, but I may have some interest to perhaps make plugins for Runelite.
Open Source is still something that I might wanna have on my CV, and I'm not a programmer so good luck to me trying to get that haha 🙂
But if I follow the philosophy(is it now?) of "anything can be achived" I can do it...
@Tipa it is actually interesting that we talk games in general, and that we don't only focus on 1 game.
I focus way too much on Runescape while there are many interesting games out there with many interesting game mechanics, which are probably shared with Runescape.
I'm very glad to get informed that Runescape isn't holding the number 1 spot on being "unique"

When you say "gold farmers" are you referring to bots or actual people?
I get the impression you mean actual people that are playing to get a lot of gold and plan to sell it while breaking the game's terms of service.
I mean, I can work on fighting and detecting bots on a personal level cause they annoy me both practically and ethically...
...but gold farmers.
Runescape has an issue with bots. Gold farmers are actual players playing the game. If they choose to go rogue, their loss.
@werefox is it still an issue for you regarding the urge to get back into Runescape or has the urge calmed down / subsided?
