Simply put, the US really doesn't make routers. Almost if not all of them are made outside of the US. There are a ton of more pressing security concerns that exist, limiting routers will mostly be a means of control.

I'm not suggesting people stop calling their representatives but I think people need to understand eventually that anyone connected politically know that these internet bills are about surveillance and that is the point. It's not some secret they're learning for the first time.
