I like switching between Twitter and Mastodon. Even if it’s just for seeing the advantages and disadvantages of when software is run by the people, or run by a dictator.

This is pure gold: What rendering really means for SEO by @geekonaut

Key highlights:
- Google doesn't care about pixels: What matters it's what's in the DOM.
- The Web Rendering System (WRS) is responsible for getting the HTML and resources and building the DOM.
- The rendering process happens whether your website uses JavaScript or not.
- At the median, a page's rendering is queued for 5 seconds.

I would use Mastodon more, but it relies on its users to make it bearable. Lately I’ve had to scroll several toots that are more than a screens length long.

I get fatigued after scrolling only 5-10 posts before I go elsewhere.

Twitter has been down for me since around midday, so naturally I’m now rootin’ and tootin’ on here to rant about it.

Anyone else keep getting this message on it?

Mastodon is where I post the b-sides of my Twitter account.
